Narratology

  • 1. Equilibrium- Character likes unavailable love interest and communicate through notes in the window
  • 2. disruption of the equilibrium -Audiences know early on that the interest loves her as well (dramatic irony)
  • 3. recognition of the equilibrium-Conflict understands that there is an interest between the two and attempts to mark her territory
  • 4. Attempt to repair the damage-tells Taylor to come to the party tonight making it more clear that he is interested in her
  • 5. New Equilibrium--Finally both confess love for one another at the dance as the conflict is settled and bring the story to a close
They follow the story with notepads and continue it through the story, showing it as a way they communicate making the ending with the new equilibrium more meaningful.
